Flower Care
You’ve just received a gorgeous bouquet of colourful, fragrant flowers. Now what? Here are some tips for keeping your flowers beautiful longer.
- When your flowers arrive as a cut flower bouquet:
- Re-cut your flower stems on an angle using a sharp knife.
- Remove any leaves from the bottom of the stem as leaves should never be covered with water.
- Arrange the flowers in a vase or container filled with room temperature water and floral preservative.
- Empty and refill the vase or container with clean water each day.
- Spray a fine mist of water on the leaves and blossoms during hot weather.
- Place your bouquet in a cool location, away from direct sunlight, electrical appliances and drafts.
- Keep them in a cool spot (65 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit: 18 to 22 degrees Celsius).
- When your flowers arrive in wet foam, Keep the floral foam soaked in water. Adding water daily.
- When your flowers are arranged in water, Keep the vase filed with water. If the water becomes cloudy replace it entirely.
